Press release from the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding violations by the Rapid Support Forces militia.

Republic of Sudan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Office of the Spokesperson and Media Department, Press Release: The Government of Sudan condemns in the strongest terms the international silence regarding the war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces militia and its self-proclaimed government in the Darfur and Kordofan regions. These crimes are committed using weapons and equipment that can only be obtained through end-user certificates. The violation of the Security Council resolution calling for an arms embargo on Darfur puts the credibility of the Security Council at stake. Furthermore, the disregard for the sources of these weapons, the entities funding them, and the countries that send and facilitate their delivery to the hands of the perpetrators casts doubt on the credibility of the international community and its relevant mechanisms. The Government of Sudan will not accept guardianship, nor will it accept that those who are complicit in these crimes and those who remain silent about them be partners in any project to end the war. The Government of Sudan affirms its commitment to ending this war and halting the destruction of the state and the starvation of its people, not through the imposition of solutions from abroad, but by dismantling the sources, mechanisms, and means of committing these crimes, holding the perpetrators accountable, and holding accountable those who violate Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law. The Government of Sudan thanks the brotherly and friendly countries that support the security and unity of Sudan, the safety of its people, and the unity of its institutions. It calls upon the international and regional community to play its required role in confronting the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur, Kordofan, and the rest of Sudan. Issued on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
