    The Sudan National Museum

    Located in the heart of Khartoum, the Sudan National Museum was officially inaugurated in 1971. It houses a vast collection of antiquities from the Halfa region, areas submerged by Lake Nasser (High Dam), and the Meroitic sites. The exhibits are organized chronologically across several galleries to showcase Sudan's historical succession through its various civilizations.

    Visiting Hours: The museum is open daily (except Mondays) from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

    Khalifa House Museum

    Established in 1928, this museum was originally the residence of Khalifa Abdallahi ibn Muhammad, the successor to Imam Al-Mahdi.

     The building itself is considered a significant historical monument. The museum’s collection covers the Mahdist era, displaying the Khalifa’s personal belongings and artifacts detailing the history of that period.

    Sheikan Museum

    Located in El Obeid, Western Sudan (North Kordofan State), the museum was established in 1965. It houses artifacts spanning various eras, from the Stone Age to the Funj Sultanate, with a special emphasis on the relics of the Battle of Sheikan.

    Visiting hours are consistent with those of the National Museum.

    Sultan Ali Dinar Palace Museum

    Located in El Fasher, Darfur region (Western Sudan). The palace itself is considered a historic architectural masterpiece. It contains artifacts from various eras in addition to the personal belongings and collectibles of Sultan Ali Dinar.

    Ethnographic Museum

    Situated at the intersection of Al-Jami’a (University) street and El Mek Nimr Street. This museum plays a vital role in fostering national sentiment and strengthening social cohesion among the various components of society. It highlights the traditional economic aspects of folk life, contributing to the development of village economies and rural growth. The museum reflects the cultural heritage of the people and serves as a strategic reservoir for Sudanese identity and culture.

    Military Museum

    This museum serves as a military archive, preserving the artifacts of the Sudanese Armed Forces and documenting its long history built upon the heroism of ancestors. It aims to strengthen the relationship between the armed forces and the citizenry, reminding them of the military’s national role in protecting the homeland.
