Course structure:

The MSc Global Mental Health and Wellbeing is made up of the following modules and, upon completion, is equal to a total of 180 credits.

  • Introduction to Global Mental Health and Wellbeing (20 credits)
  • Epidemiology (20 credits)
  • Mental Health Over the Life Course (20 credits)
  • Global Policy and Ethics in Mental Health (20 credits)
  • Research Methods (RMIH) (20 credits)
  • Research Project (Dissertation) (40 credits).
  • Contemporary Issues in Mental Health and Wellbeing (Optional) (20 credits)
  • Advanced Practice in Healthcare (Optional) (20 credits)
  • Specialist Topics in Mental Health (Optional) (20 credits)
  • Dementia in Contemporary Society (Optional) (20 credits)

Study duration

The MSc Global Mental Health and Wellbeing has an indicative study duration of 2 years, which is a guide to how long your course will take to complete. The actual duration may be longer or shorter depending on your speed of study, study options chosen and module availability.  

It’s possible to complete your studies faster than the indicative course duration by doubling up on modules at certain times; however, minimum study durations do apply.

On successful completion of your studies you’ll be invited to attend a graduation ceremony on campus. If attending the ceremony in person is not possible then we’ll arrange to have your certificate sent to you.
